Most reading this would be surprised to learn that according to Mercer Insights two African cities – Luanda and N’Djamena – are the most expensive cities in the world for expats to live in. Surpassing even famously expensive cities such as Singapore and Zurich, imported goods costs would appear to be among the largest contributing factors to these city’s high cost of living.
