Sunday reading for May 11, 2014:
1. Josh Bersin has a great post up on Bersin by Deloitte espousing the values of a comprehensive corporate recruiting software called Workday. I don’t have a lot of energy for or against the software, but in championing Workday Bersin paints a great picture of the challenges associated with standalone applicant tracking systems and where the industry is headed as a whole. You’ll definitely want to check this one out here.
2. According to Deloitte’s Analytics Advantage report, in about 20% of surveyed companies respondents were unable to identify a single executive responsible for managing data analytics. I’m torn on if this de-centralization of analytics within organizations is good or bad (there are arguments for both sides), but as an astounding 90% of the world’s data has been created in the past two years, the question of how to manage it is one that leaders at large organizations will have to answer soon. To read more about this tidbit and others, check out the full Deloitte Analytics Advantage report here.
