I’m a knowledge junkie.

I am obsessed with learning. When I wake up in the mornings the first thing I do is check my RSS feeds. If there’s a break in the day at work I’m on the SEC website learning about a company. My weekends are dedicated to learning and development.

With that said, beyond the base intellectual curiosity that drives me to learn as much as I can about certain topics, there is another belief that has long laid at the root of my passion for knowledge.

It has compensable value. It’s competitive advantage.

It’s important to remember (or realize if you didn’t know), however, that knowledge’s compensable value has a limit. The value of knowledge fundamentally lies in its practical application.

So find something you’re interested in. Live in that space. Learn everything you can about it…

…But always keep focus on how you can use that knowledge to make an impact on the world.

If you succeed in doing this, tell me how.

As always, please share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Best,

Rory
