A fairly common piece of advice is that when choosing careers it’s important to find something you love.

I am inclined to think this is a wonderful adage, and would encourage everyone (if they are fortunate enough to have the opportunity) to give it a try.

Following your passion is not always easy – it often takes hard work to make a living doing something you love. Conversely, the consequence of not putting in the effort is boredom… the end result a life unfulfilled.

1. Hmm… technically I suppose it isn’t. It’s the longest thing you’ll ever do, so relatively speaking life is actually quite long. With that said, you only get one, and every action compounds on itself. All lives are also not equal in duration. Yours could be over in a second… too dark? Let’s move on.Life is very short 1, and so I would encourage you to find the time and energy to cultivate your passion(s) into skill(s) that will allow you live a rich life.

If you succeed in doing this, tell me how.

As always, please share your thoughts in the comments below.

Best,

Rory
