Today I want to share with you a lesson that is as applicable to HR as it is any other aspect of life:

Change Happens Slowly.

In life, we often times have a tendency to get frustrated by the (seemingly) glacial pace at which the changes we want to happen actually 1. …and frustrated at the blinding speed at which unwanted change comes. happen. 1 Particularly for the restless ones among us (and I count myself one of them), it often seems as if nothing ever occurs fast enough.

Do not despair, though; if you focus on the pace of change as opposed to the presence of it you will probably quit before you reach your goal.

It is good to have a sense of urgency. You should always be thinking about what’s next. Never stand still for too long.

…With all the said, don’t pursue progress at the expense of patience. Good things take time.

If you succeed in doing this, tell me how.

Best,

Rory
